French Horn

Iris Krizmanic, as well as holding the position of principal horn in the Windsor Symphony, has the pleasure of being third horn in the Niagara Symphony, and plays with the Ontario Philharmonic. Iris graduated from the Glenn Gould School (GGS), having studied with principal horn of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Neil Deland, and Associate Principal horn, Christopher Gongos. She has worked under many renowned conductors such as Bramwell Tovey, Uri Meyer, Mario Bernardi, and Richard Bradshaw amongst others, and had the wonderful opportunity to tour to China with the Royal Conservatory Orchestra as part of a cultural outreach program for the school. As a soloist, she was featured with the Greater Toronto Philharmonic and the SPO performing Richard Strauss’ first horn concerto, and Mozart’s 3rd concerto with the Windsor Community Orchestra. A multi-talented musician, Iris is also an accomplished singer and she plays the cello. She has participated in the Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Institute as a vocalist, has performed in musicals and G&S productions as a cellist, and she loves playing chamber music, especially with her woodwind quintet, Quintagious!
